7th Edition Whisky Festival Noord Nederland

Our Whisky dinner at March 22 will take place at a very special location this year. It will be at Restaurant WEEVA, situated just next to the Martini Hotel. WEEVA has a long history, which goes back to 1871 when it originally opened as a communual kitchen. Last October it reopened, with a great wink to the past. For €75-, you can experience an evening full of great dishes combined with the best whisky’s never to be forgotten. To make a reservation you can go to our webshop.
Close to 5000 visitors attended the 6th edition of our festival in March 2011 and when keeping in mind that the whole fair is run by volunteers only this is something we are very proud of.
We had many articles and reviews in national and international printed media, including Whisky Magazine UK, we had live exposure on dutch national radio and television, who could ask for more?
In just 6 years time our festival has matured from a small local fair into a serious contender among the big international whisky festivals, some of which can learn a thing or two from us.
Helen Arthur stated on behalf of all our guests: “This is the most friendly festival in the world” and Martine Nouet and Dave Broom, both important writers for Whisky Magazine UK have chosen to come to our venue in 2012 rather than attending Whisky Live London 2012, which will be held during the same weekend.

Every major whisky importer will be present at Whisky Festival North Netherlands 2012 in Groningen and also most of the smaller brands will be there, all allowing you to taste many different whiskies from all over the globe.
You can attend 36 Masterclasses on a whole variety of subjects, ranging from Single Grain whisky to the combination of whisky and music, many international reknown writers will be present, and so on.
Every session our famous Startersclass will be held and you may expect a couple of new masterclasses on somereally wild subjects.

We send out newsletters on a regular basis to people that are subscribed to our list, they contain a lot of new facts and scoops about the festival and what will be going on there. We also use them to announce special activities and sweepstakes in the months prior to the festival.

MARTINIHOTEL WILL TO BE TURNED INTO A WHISKYHOTEL YET AGAIN
The board of Whisky Festival North Netherlands has struck a deal with Martinihotel in Groningen.
For friday March 23rd and saturday March 24rd 2012 Martinihotel will only be accepting reservations made by visitors and exhibitors of Whisky Festival North Netherlands.
Visitors, exhibitors and members of the festival staff will be welcome to stay at Martinihotel during the festival weekend if they wish to do so.
All 117 rooms in the main hotel have been reserved for festival guests, but the hotel also has a budget hostel with 50 beds for guests with a smaller wallet, the hostel is directly connected to the main building.
