MARTINIHOTEL WILL TO BE TURNED INTO A WHISKYHOTEL YET AGAIN
The board of Whisky Festival North Netherlands has struck a deal with Martinihotel in Groningen.
For friday March 23rd and saturday March 24rd 2012 Martinihotel will only be accepting reservations made by visitors and exhibitors of Whisky Festival North Netherlands.
Visitors, exhibitors and members of the festival staff will be welcome to stay at Martinihotel during the festival weekend if they wish to do so.
All 117 rooms in the main hotel have been reserved for festival guests, but the hotel also has a budget hostel with 50 beds for guests with a smaller wallet, the hostel is directly connected to the main building.
For reservations for hotel or hostel please contact Dennis Koers, who is the hotel manager.
Do not use the hotel online booking facility and make sure that you mention that you will be attending the festival when you make your reservation.
As al guests of the hotel will be linked to the festival, it may be obvious that festivities in the lobby tend to go on late.
If you are looking for an oasis od silence, Martinihotel may not be the right choice for you during the festival weekend in March 2012.

Room rates: Standard single room including breakfast for 1 person € 84,50
Standard double room including breakfast for 2 persons € 89,50
Comfort single room including breakfast for 1 person € 94,50
Comfort double room including breakfast for 2 persons € 99,50
Rates do not include city tax, which is € 3,30 per person per night.
If you plan to stay at the hotel or the hostel a day earlier or plan to leave a day later the same rates will apply, but there may be non festival guests staying at the hotel outside the weekend.
W.E.E.V.A. Restaurant
On October 4th 2011, 140 years after the original opening in 1871 the well known W.E.E.V.A Restaurant reopened its doors.
The restaurant is situated in the same building as Martinihotel and it may not surprise you that we have chosen this specific restaurant to host our widely appraised Whisky Dinner on thursday evening March 22nd 2012.

You can book a table at the W.E.E.V.A. restaurant from your hotel and go to dinner without leaving the building.
W.E.E.V.A. is an acronym and can be translated as “Lodgings and Food for Everybody”.
In present times you can still have a fine dinner for a reasonable price in the restaurant.
